Inspiring children with science and engineering.

Engineering is Elementary® (EiE) is a project of the National Center for Technological Literacy® (NCTL) at the Museum of Science, Boston. The goal of EiE is to help create science, technology, engineering, and math educational programs for children and educators in grades K–8. The team at OHO Interactive created a cohesive brand strategy and information architecture that increased understanding and adoption of curriculum.

EiE was experiencing growing pains with their existing site. The curriculum was rapidly expanding to 3 different offerings which made the site confusing to understand and navigate. EiE came to OHO looking for a partner to help restructure their site.

In collaboration with the EiE team we worked to reorganize the site and create a cohesive brand across 3 products. We started with a collaborative workshop to identify the content needs for the different curriculum offerings in the new site.

The kick-off meeting was helpful in establishing the following requirements for the new site:

  • Develop a cohesive brand strategy and design across 3 curriculum units
  • Increase conversion for users buying the curriculum and newsletter signup
  • Improve SEO
  • Make updates to the Drupal CMS for easy content entry
  • Train the team on the new CMS

Once the team had a good understanding of the requirements for the new site we began to further define the sitemaps and create user flows.
